A friend for all seasons.

A friend for all seasons.

I’m very lucky, I don’t have a best friend, I have 4!

OK I’m not sure how I’ve managed to convince 4 different people I’m not a complete douche bag, but I have. Notice how I said ‘complete’.

So I have the friend that I don’t remember not knowing. He remembers me once stealing a KitKat and that I wet the bed occasionally up until about 9!

Then there’s the mate that was better than me at football and just a vicious in the tackle. Teammates throughout our entire youth.

Fast forward a couple of years and then comes the mate I lived with and bared all to, emotionally and physically! Not in an experimental way, we were 19-years-old and had access to money and alcohol, all sorts went off!

Growing up a little bit introduced my best work friend. Someone I could bounce off in the office to get through those tie wearing days. We could tell eachother jokes without a single word being spoken, telepathic comedic geniuses.

Still to this day we’re all mates and to be fair, this debacle has gone on so long that it’s now accepted we’re in this permanently. Plus, we all know far too much!!

My collection of friends however doesn’t stop there. Recently I’ve thrown myself into the Blogging/Vlogging world and despite the 4 guys mentioned above being a diverse mix of friends, none of them are really into this world. They’re all really supportive but when I start dishing out the words Subscribers, Followers, DA Rating, Feature Images etc, I barely know the half of it myself so can’t expect them to!

Now there’s the friend that does YouTube, Networking, Blogging and all this new stuff. We’ve connected and things have progressed rapidly, he’s not pregnant we’re just teaming up to create an online network!

I suppose the thing I would like you to take away from this post is, genuine good people are hard to come across in today’s world. Finding like-minded people can be difficult but not all of them have to be like-minded in every aspect of your life. I’ve found 5 idiots, I mean people that are top blokes and we’ve connected and life is better for it.

Do you have different friends or groups of friends? Do you remember how you met?

See you online @dadvworld

PS. Blended Parent Network – Go check this out. We’re currently looking for Parent Bloggers & Vloggers to get involved 🙂

Friendships are an interesting one, especially when you become a parent. In truth, friendships can suffer. I got a bit of a wake up call a while back and realised I was letting some friendships slide because I had let fatherhood get in the way. It’s veyr important for men to sustain friendships. Social isolation of guys can be a very big deal indeed, especially in later life. Keep up with your five friends!

So True John. We don’t get many chances to all get together but when we do, everything is back to as it always has been. I think that’s a major factor in how you know who your really good friends are. Thanks for reading, always appreciate it 🙂

I love to make new friends and meet new people but since becoming a mum I never seem to have time or make the time to keep up with their lives or update them in mines. It’s so bad; hopefully in the new year I can make a better effort because being lonely and having no-one to talk to isn’t fun. #ThatFridayLinky

Loneliness can’t be good!! You should try your best to meet up with friends old and new. I’m the same, life gets in the way and eats up our time but only if we let it 😀 Good luck !! Thanks for reading.
