You are fed up with watching your kids get sucked into television programmes, tablet screens and mobile phones. What happened to going outside and trying new hobbies? You are ready to introduce your kids to a whole new world of fun that you know they are going to enjoy in the end.
You’re a dad who likes to get his hands dirty and let the kids experiment with new adventures. Whether they’re learning to play a new instrument or discovering new species on a nature walk, here are a handful of awesome activities that will get your children out of the house.
Taking your kids fishing is a great bonding experience that every dad should try at least once in his life. Whether you’re an avid fisherman or not, there is a tonne of fun to be had beside a river or lake with your little one. Get prepared with all of the correct equipment and find out the best choice for boilies. Once you are all prepared with your bait, rods and other necessary items the fun will be able to begin. Do some research into your local area and find a safe and popular fishing spot to explore.
Another amazing way to bring your kids back down to earth is to take them camping. There will be nowhere to plug in their iPod or watch television; you have to make your own fun in the great outdoors. Camping can be a great weekend activity to do when you have nothing exciting planned. Surprise the kids with a camping trip and you will be surprised at how much they love it. From toasting marshmallows on the campfire to singing their favourite songs before they go to sleep, you are all bound to have a blast.
There are so many benefits of enrolling your child into music lessons, even if you don’t think they are musically gifted. It can teach them discipline, communication and it opens up their mind to a brand new experience. You should never underestimate the fun that can be had when playing a new instrument so allow you child to pick one that suits them. Perhaps they love singing and you could see them in the local choir group; allow them to explore their passions and hobbies and they will be out of the house enjoying life in no time.
On a crisp, autumn day there is nothing more enjoyable than packing up a picnic and heading to a local park for a nature trail. There are so many exciting things for the little one to discover, so just let them run free and relish in the fresh air. You could create a treasure hunt of creatures and plants for them to find along the way to boost their motivation even more.
So if you want to get the kids out of the house more often consider all of these activities. You will soon be able to find something that they really enjoy and it could become a regular occurance!
