We’re here. We’ve made it. We just need to get through it now.
Nah, don’t take that negatively, it’s a great time of year and I’m looking forward to this Christmas more than usual. I’ve no idea why, maybe because Corben is 4 and some of the toys he’s getting are suitable for me to play with too!
What I want to talk about though, is whether or not you fellow bloggers take some time away and chill out over Christmas, or whether you go up a gear during the festive period and bang out extra content? This is my first Christmas as a blogger so I’ve no idea what the crack is. I’d guess that people take a bit of time away from the keyboard and use that time eating more food than you should and tolerating family you only see once or twice a year and don’t even like?
I haven’t really given this much thought as my blogging schedule is sporadic at best usually. I don’t know whether anyone reads the internet during this time, or more people read it as the vast majority of people are off work?!
I know for me personally, other than Christmas day and any days that have several football matches on, it’s no different for me really. We will play all day and stuff out faces on the 25th, after that, it’s business as usual really, we’re not that bothered about New Year, not celebrating it. To be honest I’m looking forward to 2017 more than I usually look forward to the upcoming new year but the actual celebrations at midnight etc for us consist of, staying up to watch the fireworks then checking our phones to see it says 2017! Last year Donetta worked nights at New Year so it was just me and Corben I think, the girls were out too!
Over on Blended Parent Network where we publish a new blog post every week day, we’ve decided to take the week off from posting new content, the week between Christmas and New Year. However that doesn’t mean an actual week off, we’re preparing for a massive 2017 so will still be at it 24/7. Throw in my usual work with this blog and I’m guessing now I’ve talked it out with you lot I can see I’m going up a gear over this festive period.
So, it’s all systems go for me on all fronts, for all the pies I have my fingers in, except mince pies, BLURGH!
Let me know what you’re blogging plans are for the next week and a bit….. See you online @dadvworld
