Must have apps!

Must have apps!

So I turn on my shiny new phone press the App Store/PlayStore and download these apps…

Obviously there’s the usual suspects, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc, they’re a given. I then move straight onto the following…

Hootsuite

An essential app if you’re a blogger/vlogger or anything else that involves a ridiculous amount of sharing on social media. Hootsuite does have a premium version for roughly £6.99 a month, but for me the free version works just fine. The free version allows you to register 3 social media accounts, mine are Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can view all 3 accounts within the hootsuite app, your timelines, messages so on and so forth. Why I use this app though, is because you can type out a post or link and share it to all 3 accounts at once! That saves some serious time. The other reason this app is on all of my devices is because it gives you the option to schedule your posts. So when my vlog is released into the wild each Sunday, I can copy the link, paste it into my hootsuite and have the app post it at specific times of the day to whichever social media accounts I’ve chosen whilst I move on to my next venture.

Highly recommended if you have something to promote!

Pocket

Do you scroll down your Facebook timeline, see something and think ‘Oh that looks interesting, I’ll read that later’, then forget what it was or where it was? Everyone does this. With Pocket you basically share whatever it is that’s taken your interest to Pocket and then when you have that spare hour to catch up on everything you’ve missed during the day, click Pocket and all the websites/links are there waiting for you. I’m always coming across things I want to watch or read but don’t have time for at that moment, so Pocket is my best friend, just remember to remember to check Pocket!

Legend

I love creating! If you’ve seen my YouTube channel, which you should have and if you haven’t then why not??!! … Then you will see the graphics I include that make up my thumbnails and intros. They’re all done through Legend. You can choose a picture or leave a blank background, then type whatever it is you want, then choose one of the animations to bring you’re ‘advert’ to life. Check out some of the ‘Legends’ I’ve made here.

Now, not all animations are available in the free version, but on my Android I’m sure it was less than £1 I paid to unlock them and it’s well worth it! OH HANG ON!! I just went to check whilst writing this and apparently now ALL animations are free!! Wonder if I get a refund?! On my iPhone however, typically you have to pay and I’ve checked again and still have to pay £1.49 but what’s that if you want to create easy awesome graphics.

CBeebies Playtime

Playtime

Essential one for parents. CBeebies Playtime App is on every device in our house. You never know when it’s going to come in handy. Long car journeys, short car journeys, any journeys! When you need 5 minutes to get some important parent stuff done, like washing up, basically an app to keep kids occupied for a while and also quite educational. Apps such as this definitely in my opinion aid the development of a child, mainly regarding numbers and colours we’ve found, so it’s not just for fobbing your kids off for a bit.

Groups

download

Groups for Facebook, if you don’t have it, get it. Sometimes I’m searching Facebook for more specific types of posts, not what someone had for breakfast or an online domestic, although the latter can be amusing. I want to seek out a conversation or post regarding YouTube, Blogging or Parenting. I click Groups and every Facebook Group I’m a member of appears in front of me. I can easily navigate to the relevant ones and it looks much cleaner and easier on the eye than it does finding groups through the standard Facebook app. It also gets rid of all the junk that you aren’t interested in at that moment.

Let us know what your favourite apps are, we’re on all the usual social media…
