Packing For Your Next Holiday

If you are getting ready to go on holiday, there is just one thing you need to tackle before you can get yourself to the departure lounge and relax with an ice-cold beer in your hand. Of course, this task is packing your case. Needless to say, there are a lot of men that will ask their partner to pack their case for them, and then we will probably moan when we arrive there and they haven’t packed our favourite shirt. Sound familiar? So, take charge of your own packing with these tips…

Bring interchangeable garments – When packing for your holiday, you need to keep things as light as possible, which is why you need to pack interchangeable garments. For example, pack a pair of shoes that can easily transition from day wear to night wear.

Stuff your shoes – While we are on the subject of shoes, it is a good idea to stuff your shoes with socks so that you can create more space for yourself. This also has the added benefit of protecting your shoes while they are in transit, as they won’t get squashed.

Make sure you have a wash bag for all of your toiletries – There is nothing worse than arriving at your hotel to discover your toothpaste has exploded and covered all of your clothes.

Pack some extra essentials – Don’t make the mistake of packing the bare minimum. Throw in one or two casual polos, as well as an extra pair of socks and underwear. After all, accidents do happen, especially with kids around. You could end up with food down your top or you may get caught in the rain. The last thing you want to do is run out of options.

Fold delicate items to the width of your suitcase – Delicate items, for example, dress trousers, blazers, fine-knit sweaters, and dress shirts, should be folded so they take up the full width of your suitcase. They should also go in your bag last. This means that they will be the first thing you unpack when you arrive, and it cuts down on wrinkling too.

Lay out your essentials the night before – Last but not least, make sure you lay out all of your essentials the night before, as this will reduce the chances of you misplacing something or forgetting something. This includes your travel documents, travel clothes, keys, passport, and wallet.

Hopefully, you now feel more prepared for packing your suitcase for your next holiday. While it can seem like a simple task on the surface, there is most definitely an art to it.
