The Liebster Award :)
What! Who me! Oh wow! Firstly I’d like to thank my parents for, ahem, making me! My beautiful wife for, ahem, helping me make one kid and lending me the other two, who of course make this blog possible!
Seriously though, The Liebster Award is a fantastic idea by the blogging community. Not only does it serve purpose to spread some love but also makes you feel, even after only 3 and a half weeks, that you’re content is relating to others. A great confidence booster.
The real thank you goes to Em Lehrer, Keystrokeblog , Em nominated me so thank you soo much! Having read about Em and her achievements it means a lot that someone like her would take the time to do this for me 🙂
I suppose this is where I now copy the rules for my nominees to follow….

Here are the questions and answers I was asked by Keystroke.
Why did you decide to start blogging?
I decided to start my DadvWorld blog as I became a stay at home dad. I really enjoy writing, I like connecting with people from all walks of life and I enjoy using tech, websites, apps etc. Blogging covers all of this whilst allowing me to still focus on my real job, being a Dad!
How long have you been blogging?
Well, I did start a blog writing about my beloved Everton Football Club in November 2015. That was started mainly to get my words down and out to other fans rather than shouting them at the wife week in week out. It’s still on going Everton FC – The View From My Seat however it’s mainly to gloat about when we win and moan when we lose. My DadvWorld blog began February 2016, not even a month ago! I’d like to think I put a little more effort into this one, hope it shows!
What are the top three things you want to do in 2016?
The main thing I’d like to do this year is get out on more day trips with the kids. Time and money restraints seem to have effected this the last year or so, but this year I’d like to get out a lot more. Another thing is turn my passion for writing into hopefully something that brings in a few quid. The boy starts school in September so it would be great if I could continue to do something I really enjoy and contribute to the money tin at the same time. Finally I’ve started writing a book, I’d love to have a final draft finished by the end of the year, a lot sooner if possible but I’d like it to be good not rushed. If I could achieve all this in 2016 it would be some year!
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Wow, how long do you have? Ha! I’m a Dad so have tonnes! I’d say one thing though that springs to mind is the wife’s inability to close cupboard doors! Seriously, every time she’s been in the kitchen or in the bedroom drawers she leaves a draw slightly open or a cupboard door open ARGH, it’s winding me up now just thinking about it!
If you could meet any person (alive or dead) who would it be and why?
Great question! I’d have to go with David Beckham I think, I know hardly original but I find Golden Balls inspirational, from the things he’s done for charities to the way he fathers his children, he’s a great role model I think. I did actually see him once when I was about 11. He’d played for Man Utd who had just beaten us (Everton) and I went round to where the away players came out to get on their coach, I managed to lean over and tap his shoulder and say “well played Becks”. Other Everton fans didn’t appreciate me applauding the opposition but I didn’t care!
What is your favorite thing about yourself?
How do you answer this without sounding like an ass? Erm, I’d have to say my bum….. Only joking, maybe my passion for fatherhood. Pre-children I always said I’d do this, that and the other, since becoming a parent I have done exactly as I said I would. It’s easy to be fair, the love you have for your kids outweighs any other emotions. So yeah I’m pretty glad that I’m backing my own words with actions.
What is something you used to hate but now love?
I wouldn’t say hate but strangely, social media! I know, what a hypocrite! I mean a few years back Facebook was to find out what your mate was having for tea or who was watching the X Factor. I suppose it still is, only now if you look past the pictures of boys on steroids and girls pouting left right and centre there’s some really good content to be found. Groups are a huge source of idea’s and when used properly social media is a massively powerful tool. I also have a new found love for Twitter! I’m using that more now than I do Facebook, I mean, I don’t care anymore what my sisters eating whilst pouting at the TV with X Factor on 🙂
If you could choose a different name for yourself, what would it be?
James! If you’re 5, you can be a James, if you’re 16, you can be a James, 30, 60, it’s a name that for me suits all ages! Good solid name too. My Grandad was called James, my brother is called James (But he doesn’t share my opinion and goes by Jamie), my middle name is James and in turn my son’s middle name is again James! The boy’s first name is Corben, I’m not cool enough for an original name like that though, I’ll make do with David.
What is something you can’t live without?
Strawberry milkshake and chocolate cornflake clusters. That was the easiest question so far 🙂
What is something you want the world to know?
That no matter how much nonsense is spouted in the general media, no matter how much negativity there is forced upon us on a daily basis and no matter how crap we’re lead to believe things are in the world, there are still some great people out there, not everyone’s a nobhead only out for themselves 🙂
